Tess Renirie, LCSW

Tess Renirie, LCSW

Therapist at Abri Psychotherapy

Tess Renirie (she/her) is a licensed clinical social worker with an extensive background in a variety of modalities to treat eating disorders and co-occurring disorders, like anxiety and depression. She has worked in residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care, where she learned about and gained experience in current treatment modalities. She gained immense experience in working with individuals at all points in the recovery process.

Tess earned her master’s degree in social work with a specialization in research from Washington University in St. Louis. She joined the Abri team in 2022 and immediately dove into the Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) world. Tess appreciates that RO DBT focuses on bringing us closer to each other as a way to heal from loneliness, anxiety, and low self-esteem, rather than needing to heal before one can engage whole-heartedly with others or valued experiences. Tess’s approach to care utilizes the most recent research to create a treatment plan tailored to her client’s individual experiences. She believes in approaching care from a social justice perspective and acknowledging how systemic failures contribute to one’s overall mental health. Through a lens of open curiosity, Tess hopes to help you discover more about yourself while also encouraging new patterns of coping to move you closer to the person you want to be (with a few laughs along the way).

Originally from California, Tess moved to Washington for a couple of years, where she fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. After a handful of years living in the Midwest, she was happy to return to her favorite part of the country. In her free time, Tess enjoys exploring the food options in Portland and reveling in the daily shenanigans of her cat, Goose, and rabbit, Kiwi.
