Brad Cardello

Therapist at Abri Psychotherapy

Brad Cardello (he/him)

Brad is a Professional Counselor Associate who works with adults and teens (12+) navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, identity exploration, life transitions, discrimination-based stress, and relationship and self-esteem concerns. He offers in-person and virtual appointments and has a special place in his heart for LGBTQIA+ affirming care.

Brad’s approach to care is person-centered, collaborative, and authentic. He works to create a space where you feel heard, accepted, and trusted. Together, you’ll explore what has helped you before alongside evidence-based strategies, going at a pace that works for you. His clinical approach is based in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT helps us put less energy into making difficult thoughts and feelings go away, and to use that energy to do more of the things that are important to us. Brad also offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients reprocess trauma safely, and is training in Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) to help with loneliness, anxiety, and disconnection.

Brad has worked in mental health settings since 2016, including roles as a behavioral specialist and a mental health program manager overseeing adult and teen programs across intensive levels of care. He earned his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palo Alto University. He’d be honored to learn from you, too.

Brad moved to Portland in 2024 and quickly fell in love with it. Outside of work, you’ll find him connecting with loved ones, making music, taking pictures of puffy clouds and mountains during golden hour, playing video games, and hanging out with his dog and cats.
