Eating Disorders (2026)

Congratulations to our team on this latest publication! This study reports six-month follow-up results from a trial examining RO-DBT in individuals with anorexia nervosa. Twenty-three participants completed a 32-week RO-DBT intervention, with researchers tracking changes in eating disorder psychopathology, BMI, obsessive-compulsive personality traits, emotion regulation, work function, and treatment utilization.

Significant reductions in eating disorder psychopathology and increases in BMI achieved during treatment were sustained at the six-month follow-up. A significant reduction was also observed on the doggedness scale of the FFOCI-SF between pre-treatment and follow-up. While mean eating disorder symptom scores remained above the established clinical cutoff, these findings suggest that RO-DBT is associated with durable improvements in symptoms and BMI for individuals with anorexia nervosa, supporting it as a treatment alternative warranting further evaluation in controlled trials.
