Nora Medina

Nora (she/hers) is a Clinical Social Work Associate who provides individual therapy for in-person clients. She values mental health awareness, connection, and intentional change guided by personal values. Nora believes strongly in building therapeutic relationships that are collaborative and person-centered, honoring clients’ strengths, resilience, and expertise in their own lived experiences. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in attachment-based psychotherapy and informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based practices. She is currently in training as an RO-DBT clinician and appreciates its emphasis on social connectedness and living authentically.
Nora earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in social work from the University of Chicago. Her journey into clinical practice was shaped by over a decade of mental health research and individual and family therapy in school and outpatient clinic settings. Nora is a culturally-sensitive therapist and works with individuals across the lifespan who have experienced anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and life transitions (including school, career, relationships, and parenting and child development).
After living in the Midwest and on the East Coast for her graduate studies and a postdoctoral fellowship, Nora is happy to return to Oregon’s natural beauty and many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. In her free time, she enjoys being in nature, trying new restaurants, and exploring Portland with her partner and dog.
