Senna Dillsi

Therapist at Abri Psychotherapy

Senna Dillsi (she/her) is a licensed professional counselor associate. She works with adults and teens in individual counseling, and has in-person and virtual availability. Along with anxiety and depression, Senna works with individuals undergoing life
transitions (career change, divorce/break ups, moving/immigration, etc) and identity development (racial/ethnic, religious identities etc.)

Senna views her clients as the true experts of their own lived experiences. She sees the therapist’s role as a guide, helping individuals to increase insight and self-understanding. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered therapy,
emphasizing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuine understanding. Senna also integrates somatic techniques, which connect the body and mind, and narrative techniques, which help reframe and empower the stories we tell about
ourselves. Further, Senna considers and understands the impact of systemic oppression on mental health and wellness. By exploring these influences, she works collaboratively with her clients to foster meaningful, lasting change. Senna is also currently being trained and supervised in Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT), and is drawn to the aspect of emotional flexibility that RO DBT emphasizes.

Growing up in Eastern Washington, Senna earned her Bachelors in Psychology from Washington State University. After graduating she studied Arabic and politics at Birzeit University in Palestine, and also spent time working as a middle school teacher, teaching English and theater. She moved to Portland in 2021 where she earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Portland State University. In her free time, Senna volunteers with the US-Palestinian Mental Health Network, an organization of mental health workers that dedicate their expertise as professionals to the service of advancing human rights in Palestine.
