Ecotherapy for Disordered Eating Group Therapy in Portland, Oregon

Starting July 7th

Our Ecotherapy for Disordered Eating Group is an in-person, skills-and-process group designed to help adults in recovery build connection, to their bodies, to others, and to the natural world.

Ecotherapy brings evidence-based recovery tools outside, into a healing environment.

At Abri Psychotherapy, we’re launching a new six-week group that combines RO DBT skills with the framework of ecotherapy, held in the restorative setting of Mt. Tabor Park. This group explores the socio-cultural and relational roots of disordered eating, reduces isolation, and builds a genuine sense of belonging. A core belief of this group is that wounds created in harmful relationships can be healed in reparative ones. You’ll find a shame-free space here where you can show up as your full self.

Reconnecting with Your Body

Develop a more compassionate, curious relationship with your body through somatic awareness and time in nature.

Building Genuine Connection

Practice skills that support authentic relationships and a deeper sense of belonging, with yourself and with others.

Exploring the Roots of Disordered Eating

Examine the socio-cultural and relational factors that shape our relationship with food, body, and self, in a supported, shame-free environment.

Reducing Isolation

Realize you are not alone in your struggles, and experience firsthand that healing happens in relationship.

What is Ecotherapy for Disordered Eating?

This group draws on RO DBT skills and the framework of ecotherapy, a therapeutic approach that uses the natural environment as part of the healing process. Together, these modalities support adults in recovery who are seeking more than symptom management: a genuine sense of belonging, flexible self-expression, and connection to the world around them.

Skills Training – Participants learn core RO DBT tools to support emotional openness, reduce overcontrol, and build social connectedness.

Ecotherapy Practice – Nature serves as a co-therapist, offering grounding, perspective, and a felt sense of being part of something larger.

Group Process– Space to share, reflect, and experience reparative connection with others on a similar path.

Somatic Awareness – Gentle attention to body-based experience, supporting a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
